Ode to Svengali
(the alternative Valentine poem) envy desire
Beware the one who's shoulder is always there for you to cry
with eyes of green and a tongue rich with the golden words of comfort
His intention like smoke drifting through your life,
its hard to see his soul masked safe it lies beneath the ice cold deceat he lives by.
Even he finds it hard to look inside the forgery that is his life hidding
in the dark love he freely shows for all that you are,
the one who covets your life.
The friend who turned out to be your thief stealing your future
and all the love and happiness your heart can give
only to be returned with promises made.
Svengali the man who is realy the insecure child
you his toy, his plaything taken away by the older boy,
Your life now left behind in the hands of its death.
his envy and desire living in other peoples love
He always wins as he rests in the arms of the honesty of others
as he blinds your heart with false promises of endless friendship
so soon to be revoked.
All independent thought replaced with his insecurity and the guilt
you must surely feel as you try to have a moment without consideration.
You may think he can save you,
but beware he shall but only for himself
