Malta return after many years..

A decision was made way back in August that somewhere hot for Christmas would be nice and gues what  Malta came out tops as a destination.
Bags packed on the 28th of December and we were off. No digging allowed though as it is banned in Malta since the 1970's due to the tremendous amount of ancient history.
We stayed in a wonderful Airbnb apartment with spectacular views in Malielya. Fortunately we arrived the day before the Egyption air plane hi jack ..what a start to a holiday. The weather was warm t-shirt weather and the food mostly self prepared, we all had a great time just sightseeing, eating and playing games between watching movies includeing "It's a wonderful life .. Relaxing and enjoyable..

After 20 odd years nothing much has changed..

Found some interesting things down by the river Almond in the Livingston area. I returned to a spot I used to swim and fish when I was a teenager, not a lot has changed.I found this base of a bottle wich I can't identify and some other nice pieces. When I was around 18 I found a stone age scrapping tool.. Have a look at my YouTube video quite an interesting day I'd say.. Enjoy & enjoy 2017 too. Good luck

No Malta just home grown work..

So no Malta took the job with the film here in Edinburgh instead not a hard decision as I have so much of my own work to do,editing, filming and digging.
Had an awesome time the first 2 days met with people I have not seen since Black Hawk Down 2001 & was blown away when they said they had some pics of me and my other stand-in friends, cant wait to see them.

What fantastic memories.....

Malta or home filming Trainspotting

I got up this morning quite positive as usual to dig or not to dig.. mnnnnnn ! Had a few things to do for my mum who lives not far from me so off I go listening to the radio as I go.
Up pops an add for flights to Malta with Ryanair for £32 one way wow..! Might well be what I need fantastic. So I did the few jobs in my mums garden and off to dig I thought, until my phone interrupts my schedule.. Hi Norm do you fancy a job on Trainspotting 2 .. What why now are you kidding do I want to see my old friend Anthony Dod Mantel work with actors I haven't seen since Black Hawk Down.. Decisions,decisions.. Just like I planned as soon as I have my mind set on a adventure another one pops up..
Let's see.. Meeting at 6pm

When the time comes..

Sitting here wondering what to get up to today.
Shall I go metal detecting or edit some of the many videos I have secreted in numerous hard drives or like so many this last few months end it all. I don't mean to mock the deaths of others in troubled times but really !
Am I the only one that thinks "what the hell" I know having all the money you would ever need is not the answer and can bring its own problems "but what the f8%k" believe me I know how exciting life can get (relatively). I have worked on many exciting projects walked in the footsteps of our so called stars and when it ends its not easy dealing with the lack of excitement or the loss of the paycheque.
I know when my time comes that I shall be ready in the knowledge that the true wealth of a life is not the monetary value or adulation from others, as I lay there  alone with my own thoughts the value of the life I have led and the true wealth of those experiences will make my passing just another dream filled sleep.

Stay safe and rest well..

Saturday 19 March 2016

I have been editing most of the week in between worrying about the state of our country,my family & working  with a film crew from Japan oh! also playing Skylanders with my writer friends son.
All in all a very busy week, editing not going great but I shall get there.
The trip to Dumfries was interesting and I met some good people from the Moat Brae Trust who are restoring the childhood home of J M Barrie.
He spent a large part of his childhood living next door to his school in this grand house with large gardens. And is also where he played out his fantasies which later became the inspiration for his book Peter Pan.
